Here's the story straight from the boys...
'It was 1974, and Jay "Sparky" Longley was relaxing on California's Laguna Beach when he noticed yet another broken thong stuck in the sand. Sparky had a wave on inspiration: why not make a comfortable pair of things that lasts for a really long time? People would wear them forever, and they wouldn't end up littering beaches. Sparky didn't know anything about making footwear, so with the help of a few mates, he began to experiment with glues and materials (leather and Malaysian rubber), crafting prototypes, until his thongs were good enough to sell to local surfers. The surfers loved them, and the word spread.
From the beginning, Sparky focused on comfort and durability and since then he's gone from making six pairs of thongs a day in his garage to manufacturing three millions pairs a year! Rainbows have a cult following and Sparky still hangs 20 year old thongs on his wall that happy customers have sent back to him to prove how long they've lasted!'

At $59.95 a pair, when they're guaranteed to last a lifetime, how can you go wrong?
